Destination: Love 1K

Two years, eight months, three weeks and six days on Saturday, June 23, 2012… Just another work of destiny; I was looking for a perfect match; you were looking for a perfect catch and then, in a twisted work of fate, I met you.

And it all begins…

A girl can like a guy for all his sweet antics but she can only love a man with a sincere intention, a man who doesn’t promise all his wealth but all that he is.

The short-spanned courtship…

Courtship is no longer about the length of time but the feelings evoked, it's when both of you try to create a portal into each others’ reality. In each passing day you’ll see that what was once a vague portrait of your future is now beginning to crystallize into a happy ever after of a life together. You'll always start thinking of TWO..

I've been given a bouquet of flowers, but I never thought you’d do it almost every day and thrice a day! Mommy even asked me, “Is he planning to turn this house into a flower shop?” So did my friends, so did I. But being important to someone’s life, other than your family and friends, is such a wonderful feeling. Love teaches you to see the world in different perspective, suddenly; a heaven on earth.

On food: You bloated my stomach and stuck in there NO BABY. Eating is an essential part of our story; our love blossomed over bilao and the bests of Palmeras, boodle fight of Alberto’s, Curacha de La Vista, lechon and a long list of carbs and fats. Our sizes bear so much significance to our love: the bigger we grow, the stronger the bond.

Why I finally said, YES…

Because I don’t want to be on a date every day, I don’t want to be fetched from house to school and vice versa, don’t want to be seen with a guy, don’t want to be treated like a Princess, I don’t! But I was controlled. And it was a very unusual feeling, you got me so confused, all messed up. And worst, you got me needing you… a lot. And being needed in return was a great feeling too, so what can I do? I guess, that’s a love come true?

What’s love got to do with it?

It’s not always about flowers, chocolates and food. There will certainly be rough times. So what’s our secret? WE FIGHT. (Like WTF happened?! LOL.)

We fight for each other NEVER against each other. The goal is, to get to the bottom of the problem, adjust if there’s a need and strengthen the relationship.  We can have a healthy argument without ever losing respect for each other. Focus on the goal.

We’re a team, that’s why we sort things out—together. So it’s not always about love. It has to be commitment.

The sweetest things he did…

The Perfect Date with Ondoy. Date at La Vista del Mar in the midst of a typhoon. Truly, love respects no obstacles. I had to catch my breath when I saw where we’re heading. It was the tree house reserved exclusively for the two of us. It was so serene up there. The soothing sound of the waves, the cold breeze that relaxed my mind and eased every inch of the tension between us with the tiny-twinkly lights from afar set the mood for a magnificent evening. Everything was magical. And it was just the start of his surprises. When we reached the table positioned at the balcony, I saw a big bunch of flowers delicately arranged and, I think, a card with his dedications inside. My heart could have collapsed if not for the inviting smell of delish food. After the dinner, when I thought that surprises were over and done with, a waiter approached us and with him, was a cake with three words that blew me away. It was so surreal. And by that time, I was sure that it was the greatest way to end a date.

The first February 14. The first to reserve that roof deck of Grand Astoria Hotel in Pasonanca. J How amazing is it to be in a huge place at the top of a building with nothing else but just a single elegantly arranged table of two chairs at the center, a heart-shaped pink cake with “I love You”, bouquet of flowers with candle lights? Not to mention a spotlight that would make you feel the most important lady in the world. And of course, the man you love on your first valentine’s dinner.

Thank you so much for that memorable evening. Surely, it wasn’t the grandest date of a lifetime or the most expensive. But I wouldn’t ask for more. Not when something like that was prepared wholeheartedly. J

The promise…

The promise is to stick together through thick and thin. No ifs. No buts.

No regrets, no holdbacks, no second thoughts…

Happy 1000 days, love!

School Must-Haves :)

Captured: school girl fan!
First day of school tomorrow! Yeah-No! I still can’t believe that this is my last year in Law school—In God’s will.  Soon enough I’ll be on my way to face doomsday (6 months review, 1 month Bar exam)! But hey, aim high and hit the mark! Loving life ;) In hunting for school stuff, I always fall for colorful and glittery things just because these cheer me up which often leads me to regrets. Glitters are falling off, colors are fading too fast or these are not the things that I really need and what not! Can’t judge a notebook by its cover! Lol.  So, yesterday I am resolute to examine not just the appearance but more importantly, the function. And here are the things I bought, be my judgeJ

The notebook. First glance and I already went – Oh, my God! Gorgeous color and pattern and it’s glittery too! To snob them is a notebook sin, I bet you!

Since I have 6 subjects, (2) notebooks. Too much weight does not only ruin posture, it ruins our bags too.

One simple rule: KEEP YOURSELF ORGANIZED!  Oh, those highlighters! Very effective memory aides, works magic! Post it! You should know what to read, where to read and even, why read it. Look for one that doesn’t get wet or torn apart, like this one—it’s made of plastic.

I have to keep my hair in place, I don’t want my hair to fall off every time I write down something—that’s unjustifiable! So I got these cute hair stuffs from Marcella. What can you say? Lolie. (Laughing out loud in exaggeration)

I can't resist a cute printed dress in Phunkberry, will blog about it along with other girly stuffs soon (when I’m ready to expose my physique) Holler! J After the school stuffs hunt, it’s time for us to relax and “Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme” didn’t fail us! ;)

Love lots.

June Movie List, Trailers and Links

The magic of movies in our lives; a world of rich and famous down to the poorest of the underprivileged way down to the mysterious underworld and way up to the heavens, Angels and God in a story of the dead or alive. All that emotions you can get in just one sitting! Plus, the leeway to give nasty comments along the way! Lol.

So let’s start our June movie journey:

1st off: Madagascar III
I would love to be lost in the middle of London Streets with fantastic circus animal friends! It’s about the joy of living your passion with the loving company of truest friends who’ll stand by you no matter where your dreams will lead you, always with you and for you through test of time. (Sniff) Drama is just a teeny-tiny part, laughter would be the major!

2nd : We Bought A Zoo
This is totally and imperatively a must-watch real life story! A very light drama revolving around a family that has just lost a Mother with a Father trying to look after his two kids while coping up with the pain and Son who doesn’t seem to care about anything but his grief and a very lovable Daughter who’s very supportive of her Father… in a Zoo! And I quote, “I like the animals, but I love the humans.” The Zoo came with some staff that soon became part of their family. The struggle and the triumph in one inspiring movie.

3rd: Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme
An interesting fusion of comedy and horror starred by an award-winning comedian, what can possibly go wrong? I’m definitely going to watch this movie tonight, no ifs, no buts!

4th The Dictator:
If you went nuts in Borat, you’d go wild in this movie! It’s Sacha Baron Cohen portraying Osama Bin Laden and getting trap in US! Pure joy! Lol.

5th: Dark Shadows:
First, it’s Johnny Depp and a lot more Hollywood superstars! A witch cursed him for loving another girl and buried him alive. Several years later, he appeared and the witch is still chasing him, bloody he**! Freakin’ me out for good some good reasons. Lol.

6th: Snow White and the Huntsman
Believe me I can’t wait for the outfits more than the movie itself! I’ve watched the other Snow White movie and got sleepy halfway, I don’t know, maybe because it’s predictable. But since this one is darker and evil, I’m hoping for the best.

Vanity Project: my version of fashion and beauty bucket list

Make-up: I’m no fan, but I’m also a firm believer of feeling good, staying confident and just being happy and comfortable with myself. And these are “very, VERILY, valid” reasons why make-ups are gals' best pal (diamond is an expensive bff!)

Eyes: Going for “semi-smokey,” an Asian eye (I) must-have.

Cheeks and Lips: Pink hues indefinitely. Varied by outfit necessity.

Hairstyle: After stopping my world for this heartrending dilemma, I have come to a conclusion that I’m keeping my long hair. The plan is, have it salon straightened, not-too-blond-dye, and do the versatile, red carpet craze—hair braids! I think, “I-don’t-care-looks-but-still-rocking-gorgeous, are so cool and yet, very easy for everyday up do. Yeah! I know how to!

Bags: Oversized! I can’t be all girly with this one. I mean, let’s see, with an average of 3-6 books to carry in a day (not to mention, hard bound), PLUS make-ups PLUS other should-be-inside-the-bag stuffs—UHM--is there a need to reiterate? And I usually want an all-around bag that can come with me any day, in any occasion

Shoe/Sandal: Voting for flats (almost) all the way! I can balance perfectly on high heels but my confidence level is running towards the opposition. I have this huge perception that, when I’m in heels, I couldn’t be the laidback, boisterous, but never raucous-y, girl that I am. PLUS, flats are just as elegant and as fab as high heels.

Nail polish: Soft green shades are now in the popular block again! But in Law School, too much attention-grabbing gaze is a no-no! I don’t want to be the “center of destruction” in the class, so I’m rooting for pretty pastel polishes. It looks feminine, feisty and flirty from school to dinner all the way to the party!

Outfit: Print my loves! OMG! I can’t believe how excited I am for this part. Definitely going for fabulous prints with vulgar floral and intricate patterns in enormous sizes, glam girl! Prints are definitely the "it thing" for 2012, check out how gorgeous and stylish they are in fashion magazines! You'll never gonna get bored with the vibrant colors and bold fashion statements.

Reality check: how do I knock this outfit down?
Fact: I’m a bit dressy, girly and just, not the the experimental type…

SnapOkay, I’ll probably go for subtle colors to compromise my rather withdrawn aura. (?) (I rest my case)

Quick wrap up, femmes: Ultimately, comfort is confidence.

What do you think? Leave a comment :)
