Little Wings

June 1st, five o’clock in the afternoon, almost a normal day in our ordinary house until a tiny bird was shown to me. The bird is just about days old and so I was told that this poor little thing is now homeless, foodless and mommyless. The rain poured very hard this afternoon that their lightweight nest got thrown by the forceful wind and off they fell to the ground with it.

With nothing left but few more hours to live, we have decided to give them the best care that we can give. In our humble home we made a nest out of white cloth, sticks, and few leaves, hoping that the birdie will have a good rest. So it did, such a relief!

“But wait!” cried out by one of our maids, “there’s one more here, this too we shall take!” Now we have two little birds with tiny wings. We know that they won’t make it but at least we did something about it, we tried to build their home inside our own.

What about the mother bird? Is it looking for these four little birds she left out of her sight? Or does it easily forget and move on with dear life? Oh, I forgot to tell you about that sad part, two of these birds died.

How such a pity life can be, it brings you to the world then suddenly flee. The wind is not made by any but only Thee and yet if Thy will is always good then why such mortality?

But who am I to question Thee, your words are wisdom, your deeds are divine. Whatever purpose this incident may be, I take it that you’re teaching something to me. That life is not about trying to live and survive but the quest to find Your value in our lives. The love you have amidst misery.

At least, birds go to heaven.

P.S: They are still alive at 10:30pm.
